In the early 1980s, the music scene was ripe for the rise of a new genre. Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax were already making waves, and Slayer soon joined this burgeoning thrash metal movement. Their debut album, "Show No Mercy" (1983), was self-financed and recorded on a modest budget. Despite its raw production, the album showcased the band's potential with fast-paced riffs and Araya's distinctive vocals.
