Machine Head's inception came at a time when metal was undergoing significant changes. The early 90s saw the decline of glam metal and the rise of grunge, creating a challenging landscape for new metal bands. Despite this, Machine Head quickly made their mark with their debut album, "Burn My Eyes", released in 1994. This album was a critical and commercial success, known for its aggressive riffs, intricate drumming, and socially conscious lyrics. Tracks like "Davidian" and "Old" became anthems, propelling the band into the metal spotlight.
