The Birth of the Logo

Founded in 1984 in Hamburg, Germany, Helloween began as a relatively obscure band within the burgeoning heavy metal scene. As the band’s popularity grew, so did the need for a visual identity that matched their energetic and melodic sound. The logo, which first appeared on their debut album Helloween (1985), was designed by the band’s guitarist, Michael Weikath, and it quickly became a defining element of their brand.
