The Early Years: From Force to Europe

Europe's roots trace back to 1979 when vocalist Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum formed the band Force. It wasn't until 1982 that the band adopted the name Europe, a decision that would soon become legendary. The lineup solidified with the addition of bassist John Levén, drummer Tony Reno, and keyboardist Mic Michaeli. Europe's self-titled debut album, released in 1983, showcased their potential with tracks like "Seven Doors Hotel" gaining traction in Japan and parts of Europe.
