Axel Rudi Pell began his musical journey with the band Steeler, gaining significant recognition in the German metal scene during the early 1980s. After leaving Steeler in 1988, Pell decided to form his own project, driven by a desire to explore a more melodic and personal sound. The debut album, Wild Obsession (1989), introduced fans to Pell's blend of powerful riffs, soaring solos, and heartfelt ballads. With songs like "Cold As Ice" and "Slave of Love," the album set the stage for the band’s future direction.
