The Early Days: Formation and Rise

AC/DC was formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Inspired by the gritty sounds of Chuck Berry and blues rock, the Young brothers aimed to create a band that combined powerful guitar work with an unstoppable rhythm section. They quickly recruited vocalist Bon Scott, whose charismatic and wild stage presence would become a defining feature of the band's early years.
